What's New? I have to confess something: I slept in until 11 a.m. today. I dreamt that there were rats nesting in my electric blanket. I was trying to catch one of them when Tony said, "GIA! It's 11, wake up!" and then went back downstairs.
The sun was shining, the sky was summer-blue, and it was gorgeous. I realized I had to take Phil & Heather's dog out soon. She just had a tumor removed and has to wear a cone on her head. She can't drink with the cone on so I am going over there this week to let her drink and take her out to pee while I am there. I slipped on some jeans, grabbed a coffee mug, and walked the 4 blocks to their house. Whenever I walk around the neighborhood with coffee Tony says, "We are the image of gentrification" -- Two young white homeowners strolling around the 'hood with coffee that everyone probably assumes is from Starbucks. Oh well.
Rain clouds roll in now, the beautiful morning obliterated. I hope for a quick down pour and clear skies afterward. I was in such a summer mood earlier; talked to my mom while sitting on the front steps, soaking in sun, laughing. Now I find myself huddling inside with soup and a scowl.
I think the mail man is here! False alarm. Lady just barking her head off at a bug or something. I am going to stop procrastinating now and write. |
